I got into the natural health and wellness field because I am really, truthfully passionate about helping people live a better quality of life. I want to educate others on how to take steps towards the direction of achieving optimal wellness. I am happy to say that we are living in a time where people are becoming more aware and concerned about their health. Having worked in the healthcare industry for over 14 years, I know all too well that there are many people whose health suffers because they failed to take better care of their bodies (and minds) along the way. Can we prevent every possible negative health outcome? No. However, there are so many things that we can do on a day to day basis that will help us become healthier and happier, too! I find that when my clients are provided with education and helpful information, that in and of itself, provides empowerment and evokes change. I never just hand my clients helpful hints and send them on their way. A big part of my practice includes continued support. Wellness counseling is no different than any other form of counseling. We are working on change and transformation. It takes time and dedication from myself as well as the client.
Years ago, I became more invested in natural/holistic health. It’s so amazing, the amount of natural cures and remedies there are out there! But far beyond natural cures and remedies, there are so many natural things that one can incorporate into their life that will help them achieve and maintain optimal wellness. We have become a society where quick everything is the way to go. We’ve also been trained to believe that for every single ailment, there is a drug that will take it away. Because of this belief, alternative medicine and natural/holistic health is taboo, to some. My main goal is to educate, empower and support.
Natural/holistic health is extremely important. It involves evaluating and treating the person as a whole. It’s not simply about diet and exercise. It’s about complete life changes and maintenance. It would be counterproductive for me to help a client with improving his/her digestive health, without addressing every other aspect of their life. Everything works together and often times, when one thing is off, everything is compromised and suffers.
Let’s work together to tackle and conquer the issues that are preventing you from living the life you want to live.
